watched a documentary called《High Heels Confidential》on pearl tonight. it was fantastic...
those shoes in the 17th and 18th centuries... and those high heels by Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Patrick Cox, and Salvatore Ferragamo... OH MY GOSH... i think i'm a shoe-aholic...
more than once, people ask me why i'm so obsessed with high heels, and how i would be able to walk in those stiletto heels. well... yes, i'm obsessed with high heels. i remember once dominic asked in class, why we ladies fancy so much about high heels, though it's like self-masochism. and railway gave a perfect answer ─ it's an addiction, once you've put them on, you would fall in love with them.
dominic was right though, it's like self-masochism. not everyone can walk comfortably in high heels, especially for stiletto heels. and after a long day in those heels, you might just feel your feet are not yours anymore. but, if you could overcome the pain, you would definitely fall in love with them. yes, it's just like an addiction.
except for trainers, when i go shopping for shoes, the first thing i look at would be the heels. if they're not stiletto heels, or if the heels are less than 2 inches in height, i would put them down immediately.
so, how would i be able to walk in those stiletto heels? well... i would say i don't know... coz once i've tried my first pair of stiletto heels on, i could walk pretty comfortably already. yes, i'm serious. i'm those kind of ladies who could run with their stiletto heels. is that a kind of talent? i have no idea... but a guest in the documentary has given a suggestion ─ practice makes perfect.
but, wearing high heels doesn't mean neglecting the health of the feet. just as what the experts say, don't wear high heels every day, and give your feet time to relax. that's how you can enjoy the pleasure of wearing high heels.
and actually, it's not the privilege of ladies only, guys look fabulous in heels too. see the Fab 5, and Jay Manuel in their heels, they're just drop-dead gorgeous. if that sounds too gay to you, well then, see how John Travolta dances with his high heels in《Saturday Night Fever》, he's just sexy!
